African Diaspora Declaration (ADD) to the African Union
May 1, 2010
On this Ancestral day of the 110th anniversary celebration of the Pan African Movement, we of the African Diaspora have issued this African Diaspora Declaration to the African Union to consider for immediate action; recognizing that Africans everywhere have been severely oppressed and underdeveloped due to the legacy of Imperialism, Racism, Slavery, Colonialism and Neo-Colonialism; and that the veteran Pan African and eminent leaders of the African Diaspora have dedicated themselves for the restoration and unification of Africa under one central government based upon the principles, practices and the philosophy of Pan Africanism and Africancentricity; to established a global community based upon justice, equality, and Black Empowerment; and that the African leaders in Africa have for centuries invited the African Diaspora to return Home and recently to participate as constituent members of the African Union (AU); and that the AU is urging the African Diaspora to mobilize its resources for the reconstruction of Africa for the economic, political and cultural unity and integration of the Africa; Therefore, We the undersigned (listed) African Diaspora leaders have committed ourselves with the African Union to act together for the:
1. Immediate union of the African continent with one central Government under an African Union/Continental government body;
2. Acceptance of the African Diaspora as an integrated political and social representative body to the African Union with the restoration of rights of citizenship;
3. Cultural emulation and propagation of the philosophy and teachings of our Pan African history, heritage and the sciences to our children;
4. Acceptance of the African Diaspora as an economically integrated constituent of the African Union, as priority partners to establish and promote a Pan African model for the sustainable development of our joint resources through businesses, trade, investments and commerce across the African world; and
5. Implementation of the Abuja Declaration and its mandate in pursuance of the claim to Reparations and accept the findings of the Durban Conference on Racism, Xenophobia and other related matters and to pursue the plan of action.
