WADU in WDC for Annual Meeting

Atlanta, GA - The World African Diaspora Union (WADU) is inviting our community to participate in the annual WADU 2012 Community forum beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday July 21, 2012 in Washington, DC. The WADU public meeting is to engage critical issues facing Black people with key global African leaders, including the situations affecting African states such as Mali (Libya, Ivory Coast…), sustainable development and a special report on the African Union South African Global African Diaspora Declararion in May 2012. The community forum will convene at the Paul Lawrence Dunbar Cultural Center 2001 Fifteenth Street NW.
 
The WADU public forum will also serve as a tribute to the “Legendary” Ambassador Dr. Baba Dudley Thompson, former President of WADU. Baba Thompson was a strong supporter of education, African unity and economic justice. Some key presenters for the Saturday forum are those such as Dr. Leonard Jeffries, WADU President; Minister Akbar Muhammad (NOI); Dr. Georgina Falu (AUDITT/Puerto Rico); Nana Yaa Farika Birhane (Jamaica); Mr. Fritz McClymont (Pan African businessman); Baba Lumumba (Umoja House, WDC); and representatives from Africa.

The public forum at Paul Dunbar Center beginning on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. will also consist of community activists, business leaders, educators, ministers, students and officials to continue working together for the union and rebuilding of African communities, globally. The public meeting will also focus on strengthening the Diaspora leadership, pressing for a union of federated Africa, harmonizing Diaspora economic initiatives as part of a common and long term “Decade for Development” agenda for African economic self-reliance, global African education and the union of African people, worldwide.
